Descendant of a Violent Rebellion and Baby's Green Butt ( A must read)

Over breakfast today, Kim (our housemate) was asking me about the Hakka people (my root). So I told her whatever I knew and said I am a descendant of the Taiping (pronounced as Tuy-ping) Revolution*. And Tim went, 'Yeah, they used typists to boycott the secretaries.'

I think my husband is very funny :) So after a long roar of laughter..I went on to tell HER whatever I knew about the revolution to her.

Somewhere in that conversation, Tim snapped a pic of Matthew with his phone. As we looked at it, I made a remark of how he looked so Mongolian in this pic.

Then Kim told me, we ARE Mongolian by descent. The Chinese and the Korean. The way you can tell is that anyone with a Mongolian descent is born with a green butt. (Remember I mentioned in a previous post that babies have green butts?) It was then that I found out, not all babies have green butts! That explains why Tim was so puzzled when I told him all kids have green butts and how my friends and I used to pull down each others' pants to tease each other about how green our butts were! (I am in the library and laughing hysterically as I type..yes people are staring)

So yeah, we had a fun time at breakfast this morning :)

I welcome all comments. So is it true? Only Koreans and Chinese are born with green butts?

*The Taiping Rebellion was a large-scale revolt in China from 1850 to 1864, during the Qing Dynasty, by an army led by heterodox Christian convert Hong Xiuquan. (Quoted from Wikipedia)
