We were a bit frightened to find out how much disposable diapers cost in Australia. Hence, the search for an alternative.
See we had found out about these diapers before Matt was born but we didn't think we would need them. So till about a week ago, all Matt has ever worn were disaposable diapers, which were very cheap in KL. Being in KK is an entirely different story. Diapers, formula, everything is a lot more expensive here.
Anyway, we thought moving back to Australia we'll have to use cloth nappies. So I went online to search for those diapers we had seen before Matt was born. Found them online. http://www.bumwear.com/ This may not be new to you but if it is...very exciting!!
I've fallen in love with them. The fleece is so soft and keeps Matt's butt really dry. and they look so good. You can buy special inserts to absorb more..or you can just use normal cloth nappies as inserts.
Well I know...you may be thinking to just use nappy liners to keep the baby dry. But the fleece..so soft I want it on my butt!
Anyway, in KK, Tim and I found them at Happy Mom's (at KK Specialist Centre). We spent RM360 for 4 diapers and 6 inserts. We use normal cloth nappies as inserts at home and use the good inserts when going out and at night. That should do us. We're very happy with them.
The downside; now I have to wash diapers with poo-poo on them when I used to just chuck them (that was disgusting enough I thought). Oh well, all part of parenthood.
Oh...for those who do not have babies..babies do have green little butts. Very cute :)
