This Journey is my own- Sara Groves

What the Lord has been teaching me:

When I stand before the Lord,
I’ll be standing alone
This journey is my own
Still I want man’s advice,
and I need man’s approval
This journey is my own

Why would I want to live for man,
and pay the highest price
What does it mean to gain a whole world,
only to lose my life

So much of what I do
is to make a good impression
This journey is my own
And so much of what I say
is to make myself look better
But this journey is my own

And why would I want to live for man,
and pay the highest price
And what does it mean to gain a whole world,
only to lose my life

And I have never felt relief like I feel it right now
This journey is my own
Cuz trying to please the world,
it was breaking me down
It was breaking me down

And now I live and I breathe for an audience of one
Now I live and I breathe for an audience of one
Now I live and I breathe for an audience of one
Cuz I know this journey is my own

And you can live for someone else,
and it will only bring you pain
I can’t even judge myself,
only the Lord can say, ‘Well done.’
Oh, this journey is my own

Back!

I'm back! Sorry for the silence. Have been so busy.. travelling, events etc. Still busy but I thought I must stop and blog a bit to stay sane. :) But it's all good busy :)

It's such an exciting time to be alive! It really is. I know God is about to do something so incredible all across the globe. It's almost feels like there is a holding of breath....hold on..hold on...ooooooohhhh so exciting!

AND....babies have been born..all in April!

Welcome to the world Baby Emeth Sun, Baby Miriam Quak and Baby Tedros Siew! All born to different parents mind you :)

I get very excited over births. I think it's just amazing! You just can't help but see the fingerprints of God on these babies.

Oh Lord, please grant these new parents wisdom, love, patience and joy as they learn to take care of their little ones! Amen :)

Age is not a factor

I had a conversation with some friends a few months ago. They were saying how a few of their friends died when they were still quite young. I then said that I believed it's not a matter of how long you live. It's a matter of how full your life is. You can live till 100 but if your life is empty, dying at 100 isn't any better than dying when you're 10.

What is an empty life? to me an empty life is one that is self-consumed, self-centered and it's all about oneself. One's own needs, one's own pain, how to satisfy one's own wants and desires. Most if not all people living like this live their lives in misery.

I think we should live everyday to the full. Meaning that we don't just live to survive, to go through another day...but beyond survival, we live for significance. First survive, then be significant. Our lives impacting those around us, making a difference in 'our world'; among our families, our friends, our spheres of influence. Living beyond ourselves!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Then the question was asked- Can someone really have lived a full life by the age 12? and from the bottom of my heart I believe so. What about an 8-year-old?

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."(Matt 19:14)

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. (Psalm 8:2)

"Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."
But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 1:6-8)

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Tim 4:12)
