Yes..growing up my family has never been too abundant with finances. And joining the MV Doulos and YWAM (Youth With A Mission/ Youth Without Any Money haha) made sure I didn't have much money :) Then teaching, as all of you know isn't exactly a wealth making profession. The richest I've ever been is now, working for a Christian organisation and yet, sometimes we have to scramble here and there but we always make it through.
and YET....thinking of the circumstances that has shaped me...
Because my parents didn't have much money, they gave all they had to us, they taught me to give selflessly. They taught me what it means to be family. They taught me when one person is in need, we give of ourselves completely without expecting a return.

And lately, my brothers and my hubby really moved me with the way they gave of themselves as they stepped in to help out a family member in need (with such willing hearts and not a word of complaint).
I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to God not because He has given us plenty but because He hasn't. Because He hasn't, my family gets to see, learn, express and live out what it means to be a family.
and with Matthew- because I wasn't able to conceive, God gave us Matthew through adoption and his adoption involved everyone in the family. In both my family and Tim's. Everyone gave us so much moral support and some gave financial support without being asked.
Now everyone loves Matthew to bits. His birth being so dramatic made me really appreciate his life...
I was in bed thinking last night and when Tim came to bed, I told him that I was content. Really content, surrounded by the people I love the most and I have nothing more I could ask.
Thank you God and I love you :) so much.
